Maynilad sends water, cash aid to Typhoon Odette survivors

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) extended its assistance to Filipinos affected by Typhoon Odette by providing bottled water and cash aid, and deploying its mobile water treatment plants and personnel to the typhoon-stricken provinces.

Maynilad donated Php6.5 million cash aid through the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation and One Meralco Foundation, and also provided hydration assistance with the turnover of 2,800 one-liter bottled water and 100 four-liter bottled water to the provinces of Cebu and Bohol. More bottled water donations will be shipped out in the coming weeks, with deliveries being extended to other affected provinces including Siargao, Tacloban and Palawan.

The company is also arranging the deployment of its two mobile water treatment plants to the affected provinces. Combined, these two mobile water treatment plants can produce around 20,000 gallons of potable water per day—enough to supply the needs of around 50,000 people. These Maynilad initiatives are part of the MVP Group-wide relief assistance program that seeks to provide immediate help to calamity survivors and lay the groundwork towards full rehabilitation of affected communities.
