The Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), through its Building Resilience through Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (BRIDGE) Project, conducted an alignment workshop with the members and officials of the Kaksaan ne Dumaget de Antipolo on June 29, 2026, at Altaroca Mountain Resort, Antipolo City, as part of its commitment to an inclusive, participatory development process.
Thirty-nine members of the Kaksaan ne Dumaget, the recognized Indigenous Peoples (IP) group of Dumagat Remontados in Antipolo City, participated in the alignment workshop. The project team presented BRIDGE’s intended project outcomes and possible activities involving the Dumagat Remontados communities and asked for the members’ insights and concerns about how those activities would be carried out. Ultimately, the workshop resulted in a Work Plan vetted and agreed upon by the community members.
The Kaksaan ne Dumaget de Antipolo also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the implementation of the BRIDGE Project and ensuring the cooperation of its nine member communities. This will directly contribute to the Project’s goal of increasing the adoption of gender-responsive, disaster-and-climate-resilient Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) practices by women and Indigenous Peoples.
Funded by Global Affairs Canada, BRIDGE is a four-year project implemented by PDRF to improve the disaster and climate resilience of the water-stressed communities in Antipolo and Baguio.
