Typhoon Uwan: Where to donate to help affected communities

Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung Wong) had weakened as it exited the Luzon landmass on Monday morning, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

According to a report by the Office of the Civil Defense on Monday, two people were killed in Viga, Catanduanes, and Catbalogan City, Samar, due to the impact of Super Typhoon Uwan.

Meanwhile, a total of 1.4 million people (about 426,000 families) have been preemptively evacuated in Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Negros Island Region, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.

Uwan made landfall on Sunday night over Dinalungan, Aurora, before crossing the Luzon landmass. On Monday, state weather bureau PAGASA said, Signal No. 4 is still hoisted in eight areas in Luzon.
